David Beckham has bought both an Aston Martin V8 and an Aston Martin DB7. The DB7 had the added touch of a personalized registration plate marked ‘DB7’, both a reference to the car itself and the owner’s initials and shirt number.

David Beckham’s car collecting reputation has also made him one of the favorites to be the first celebrity to buy the new two million dollar Aston Martin One-77. With only 77 being produced, and delivery being made in October 2009, Beckham needs to move quickly if he hasn’t secured one already

The Ferrari 550 Maranello and 550 Barchetta are 2-seat grand tourers built by Ferrari. Introduced in 1996, the 550 was an upmarket front-engined V12 coupe of the kind not seen since the Daytona. It shared its platform and 5.5 L (5474 cc) engine with the 2+2 456 (Engine Code: F133) but was positioned as the company’s highest-end model. The car used a transaxle layout, with the 6-speed manual gearbox located at the back, in-line with the driven wheels. The model number refers to total engine displacement (5.5 litres) and the model name of Maranello refers to the town where the Ferrari headquarters are located.

For the 2007 model year, the Garrett turbochargers were replaced with low-inertia Mitsubishi units designed to improve engine response. The engine was mated to a version of the six-speed ZF automatic transmission found in the Continental range. Also, the capacity of the engine is increased from 6,749 cubic centimetres (411.8 cu in) to 6,761 cubic centimetres (412.6 cu in). The new tunings give Arnage T 373 kilowatts (507 PS; 500 bhp) and 1,000 newton metres (738 ft·lbf), while the milder Arnage R having 336 kilowatts (457 PS; 451 bhp) and 875 newton metres (645 ft·lbf). For the performance oriented T, factory stated 0-60 mph acceleration is only 5.2 seconds, and the top speed is 288 kilometres per hour (179.0 mph).
